Well no I don't. This was not the exact moment but Bianca had a similar look of surprise and curiosity when I slipped in a Portuguese word. While she was playfully handing me her sock I was saying 'thank you,thank you' - then when I said 'obrigada' she looked up at me as if to say "grandma,I didn't know you could speak that language??!!" At 7 months, she recognized the difference. She and mommy speak Brazilian Portuguese together always. So when Bianca travels to Brazil someday she'll be able to talk with her grandmother, aunt, cousin and uncle there as easily as she'll speak English here. Pretty neat! I wish I was fluent in my parent's language. Maybe I'll sneak in a German word once in a while to my little liebling Bianca.
